My guess is when I re-download the tracks they are downloaded into the iTunes folder? It seems they would be 256kbps-quality AAC files rather than MP3 too? I'm guessing I could use some sort of tool to convert these all to MP3 in bulk after? (hopefully using just audio?)įrom what I've seen so far, it looks like I could then just delete all of the matched song from my library and then re-download them from iCloud, which would then give me a higher quality file with the correct tags and artwork? I've looked a little into iTunes Match and this looks like it could potentially do exactly what I want it to - it seems you just import all of your songs into iTunes and then sign up to iTunes Match and it will progressively scan your entire library and match songs where possible.
Is jaikoz worth it upgrade#
It seems GPM would be the perfect thing to do after cleaning up my library as it would enable me to essentially upgrade alot of my music to a higher bitrate for free. The issue with this though, is that it seems there is no way to have GPM automatically apply the tags/art it suggests or apply them in bulk?Meaning going the GPM route would likely be more tedious and time consuming than Picard. When a song is matched though, you can right click on the track and Edit Info > Use Suggestions and generally get the correct tags. If it does find a match, then it replaces your MP3 with theirs (which is usually better quality), but leaves the tags/art as is.

If it doesn't find a match, it just uploads your song with all of the art/tags as is. When you upload your music to GPM it listens to the tracks and tries to find a match - it doesn't seem to care about tags, which is good in case a song is tagged incorrectly. I've tried fiddling with GPM, but it doesn't seem to clean things up automatically. Researching this a little further I came across people mentioning how iTunes Match / Google Play Music can help cleanup your library. This would allow me to automate at least some of this work even if it was just 20% of my library this would still be about 4,000 tracks. Is there a way I can have Picard only show results that are 99% accurate? These all seems to be about bang on the money and I think I'd feel comfortable with just bulk saving these ones. Has anyone managed to find a somewhat 'automated' method for updating their music library tags/art? My goal ultimately, it to just get the correct Title and Artist tags on all my MP3's with art and then have them named with %artist% - %title%.mp3. Mostly it just gets the album wrong (suggests a compilation album), but it does also get things completely wrong sometimes.
Is jaikoz worth it manual#
The issue I'm having though is that I've probably got about 20,000 songs I'd like to fix up and Picard still involves a lot of manual effort because it still gets quite a few things wrong. I've tried using TuneUp (even purchased a license) but prefer MusicBrainz Picard - it's very user friendly and does exactly what I want it to - fixes tags/art and renames files accordingly. Going a little insane trying to find something that's halfway decent.
